This is how I am, this is me
What is it that has caused me so much pain?
Many things that are linked in the same way.
I remember back when,
A happy soul, I was.
Quiet as I still am now,
But less insecure.
My soul was hiding something
That I found was slowly growing.
My main experience, if you didn’t know,
Released the beast within.
I’ve been shown the things in life
That others don’t see.
I can see the dark in light,
Even if you don’t believe.
I can sense feelings that others ignore.
Sometimes I feel their pain,
Even if they might not feel it themselves.
I’ve seen the night during the day.
Before my experiences,
I couldn’t see the real world.
But, now, I’ve lost my innocence.
I’ve lost the true part of childhood,
And envy those that still keep it.
The world is darker than one might seem.
Open your eyes and see what I mean.

Interesting style. Inject more symbolism and you have yourself something, that probably, by age 18 you could probably either publish or turn into some really introspective songs.
